From Earlham Cluster Department
The idea is that the CCG and HIP would work together to design, build, test and deploy gear that would support a variety of field work by a geology class and a chemistry class in Iceland during July, 2013. This would cover a wide range of capabilities, from hand-held geocoded water parameter sampling to a WiFi hotspot backed by a server running Apache, Mediawiki, etc. for the students and faculty to use.
Cell or satellite uplink would provide Internet connectivity in some locations. This would be done through the WiFi hotspot so that everyone could share the uplink.
